Bank Indonesia kept its benchmark seven-day reverse repurchase rate at 5.75% on September 23, matching the expectation of most economists surveyed by Reuters.

The decision was the first policy meeting under Governor Destry Damayanti. The central bank also announced additional hedging incentives while saying economic growth momentum remained intact.

Holding the rate does not lock in future policy. Bank Indonesia continues to balance growth support, inflation and stability in the rupiah as global financial conditions change.
