DreamWorks’ upcoming animated film ‘Forgotten Island’ draws heavily from Filipino culture and mythology, including creatures such as the Manananggal, Reuters reported on September 22.
H.E.R., who voices one of the lead characters, said the mythology connected with stories she heard from her mother while growing up. Liza Soberano voices the film’s other lead character.
The movie is co-directed by Januel Mercado and Joel Crawford and follows two friends stranded in a mystical world where escaping could cost them their memories.
