Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro were statistically tied in a simulated presidential runoff in an AtlasIntel/Bloomberg poll reported by Reuters on September 23.
The survey put Lula at 47.7% and Bolsonaro at 47.4% in the hypothetical second round. In a first-round scenario cited by Reuters, Lula had 45.8% and Bolsonaro 43.4%.
Polls are snapshots of voter opinion rather than predictions of the final result. The campaign continues ahead of Brazil's October election.
