Belize says heavy sargassum is hurting tourist arrivals in major coastal destinations

Belize Prime Minister John Briceño said the heavy sargassum influx has begun to hurt tourist arrivals in San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Hopkins and Placencia, according to local reporting.

Belize's tourism authorities maintain a national sargassum-management program and the government says it is developing additional support for affected destinations.
